At the rear of the building is one of the hotels best kept secrets, the garden.

A serene, sunny area that extends beyond the length of the hotel, it’s mature trees offering seclusion and shade. There are seated areas for reading or quiet contemplation and social areas overlooking the indoor swimming pool or the cabaret bar.

The Garden is the perfect venue for parties, weddings or informal business meetings.

Star Cabaret Bar
First class entertainment awaits you most evenings. We have Peter Baffles a comedic magician, vocalists Jonathon Marks and Nigel Lee, Anita Kinglsey and Moonraker both comedy/vocals, to help you dance the nights away. All of our entertainment is always free to all of our guests.

The Avenue Bar
The more intimate Avenue Bar has it’s own dance floor and comfortable lounge style seating. This is where we hold our very popular Rock n Roll and Soul nights.

Our heated indoor pool offers relaxation after your excursions or a hard days shopping in the town centre. It is approx 1 metre deep, so doesn’t require you to be an Olympic swimmer to stay afloat. Early birds can swim from 7am through to 7pm.

Our Chef prides himself on offering a wide range of mouthwatering dishes using local produce where he can. His specialty is fish, which is always offered as one of the daily choices, and his home made soups. If you have any special dietary requirements we ask that you inform us at the time of booking so we can make suitable arrangements. Sample menu

Disabled facilities and access.
Here at The Bancourt we aim to make all of our guest stay as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately due to the age of the hotel not all the rooms in the hotel are accessible by wheelchair (yet!), but we do have ramps to the restaurant and a lift from the front entrance to reception and the first floor. Once in reception you would have easy access to the Cabaret Bar, which has disabled toilet facilities, and the pool area – please note we do not have hoist facilities or a ramp into the pool itself. Parts of the garden are accessible by wheelchair.

If you have any mobility problems, it would be helpful if you inform us at the time of booking before we allocate rooms. We would like to make your stay at the Bancourt as enjoyable as possible.

We can accommodate up to 150 people in our main function room. We have high quality large screen projector, free for use by our guests a modern, wi-fi internet access, pa system, we can also talior make a conferencing package for you including accommodation and hospitality service.
