countryside
Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust’s new open organic farm, nature reserve and educational centre in Paignton offers Torbay its first and only farm shop, stocked with authentic Devon produce, organic and Fairtrade goods and housing a traditional butcher. With sweeping views across the farm project and a unique viewing panel into the adjacent organic craft bakery, the Bake House café provides visitors with a unique setting to enjoy imaginative seasonal dishes reflecting the best of local produce.
Through Occombe Farm, the Trust is working to make people more aware of the links between the food they eat, where it comes from and the effect food production has on the natural word around them. These connections are explored through a two kilometre nature trail, farm audio guide, wildlife cameras, interactive touch-screens and over 50 events such as forages for wild food, bread-making workshops and sheep-shearing.
Open daily from 9am to 5pm (cafe 10am to 4pm)
